Whenever this time of year rolls around, it evokes a nostalgic sentiment that brings me back to when I was a kid. I adore autumn and the coziness that comes with the season, and the memories to look back on, and new ones to create. Little things like fall trends, layering, reuniting with crisp weather and cozying up on the couch, anticipating holiday decor, and savory festive meals– are what make fall so comforting.
I am especially excited to decorate this year because it’s Matt’s and my first apartment together. I can’t wait to start cultivating a holiday decor collection throughout the years. I have already started to browse and bring a few things home because someone just moved into a new office that shares the same block as Target! One word: Dangerous. I was so excited when I discovered that Target was launching yet another amazing collaboration with NYC based American sportswear designer, Adam Lippes (read a little more about Adam here). The newly launched collection was inspired by Adam’s country home in the Berkshires in Massachusetts and showcases a very recognizable print: Buffalo Plaid.
Everything in his collection from home to clothing — even pieces for your pet — are beautiful. I am definitely one who gravitates to plaid this time of year, and I have to say that the line is very clean, elegant, and evokes that fall vibe. As you know very well I am addicted to neutrals and the home collection really did it for me. I fell in love with the beautiful throw blankets (not even for holiday but year round!), and this ‘Firewood Fig’ candle is amazing. I am extremely picky with candles, but this one is going to be purchased more than once. I love the luxe fabrics, rich hues, and the decadent accents and scents that he created. I highly recommend you check out his line while you can. 🙂
“Plaid is a very storied pattern, it’s been around
for a very long time, and one that we Americans
take ownership of”. -Adam Lippes
