Are you getting excited for holiday break? Because I am! The countdown is in full force, and hopefully, time continues to tick quickly. The halls are decked, we hosted our holiday party this weekend (excited to share a recap with you tomorrow), and I am so excited to finally sit back and relax. I’ve been soaking in every second when I get home from work and on weekends while plugging in our tree, lighting candles around the apartment, and enjoying the season’s merriment. I thought I would share with you (as an overall recap of all my holiday decor posts) a few easy tricks that have a huge impact but have minimal effort.
Garland hung above doorways or window sills or laid across a tablescape. It literally took me two minutes. I took garland and wrapped it with white twinkle lights (inspired by this photo on Pinterest), and hung it over our dining room window/as our table runner in the dining room. Since we had our guests over and this is where we planned to have apps and drinks, I thought it would be a nice touch!
Our holiday candles captivate as soon as you walk into our apartment. We have been lighting them whenever we’re home (pretty standard in my household, ha), so our place is replete with a delicious scent from this candle I got from Target a while back. If you’re hosting guests for the holiday, leave a candle and a cute pack of matches by the guest room nightstand. Such a sweet touch.
Add a festive element to each room. I have scattered little things here and there, so each room in our home feels like Christmas. A little decor piece on each table, candles spread throughout, or something twinkly.
Like I shared with you here, I am pretty minimal when it comes to decorating, but love to invest in staples that speak to my style and the holiday, and I absolutely love our little growing collection we’ve started. Any little tricks that you think go a long way when it comes to putting your home together before the holidays? Would love to know!
