Matt and I took a very memorable road trip down to SB on Friday to celebrate our friend’s wedding over the weekend. I had never been before, so after a long car ride, I was ready to get acquainted and fell in love pretty quickly. The relaxed, beachy, and charming vibes made it tough to say goodbye on Sunday.
We had the best time thanks to the weather, our adventures, and a beautiful wedding. On Friday, we arrived at our adorable bed & breakfast late in the afternoon. We stayed at the Upham Hotel & Country House which was so darling, especially since we had our own little balcony patio to ourselves and spent our mornings there. It was so relaxing, I miss it already. That evening we went to The Lark, a restaurant that came highly recommended by several friends and it met our high expectations. This little gem could definitely find itself alongside some of my favorite SF restaurants with their deviled eggs, Dungeness crab gnocchi, cheese platter and seared scallop selections. We will be back for more at some point!
Saturday was our favorite. We woke up, went downstairs for a home cooked brunch on the porch with coffee, then went back up to our balcony to catch some sun and relax. No rush, no timelines, just enjoying the beautiful setting around us and the ease of a summer day. I can understand why SB is such a loved and special place to those who have spent time there. The rest of the afternoon leading up to the wedding we spent on State Street exploring, shopping and had lunch with wine. It was deeeeelightful. (Side note: the shopping there is amazing, I could not believe my eyeballs).
After such a lovely Friday night/Saturday morning, we were ready for the weekend’s main event. Our friend’s wedding was picture perfect. The reception was held at The Montecito Country Club on a stunning green lawn overlooking the setting sun and ocean. Such a blast of a night toasting to those love birds! I live for weekends like this, filled with moments that I will remember forever. I can’t wait to visit Santa Barbara again.
I hope you had a lovely weekend as well! x
