    Style Edit: Basics

Basics are the building blocks to your wardrobe. The everyday essential that can guide you to create your look for the day, as well as an effortless piece worn on it’s own that you feel your best in. Nothing beats a perfect white tee, a pair of denim that fits you like a glove and flatters, and a pair of sunglasses that you can’t leave the house without. Finding those items can be the tricky part, but I’m here to help! Through the years post-styling days, I scroll through websites like nobody’s business and have found brands and online shops where I always look to for specific things in my closet. So let’s get started on creating your dream wardrobe!

    Basic Tees.
Can never have enough of these, am I right? I look for pieces that look put together and expensive. If I am going to throw on a tee with jeans, it’s got to be the perfect fit and has to speak for itself on why I decided to wear it solo. 🙂 I always go for white, black, gray, and like to add a good stripe tee in there too. Here are a handful of my current favorites:

    Denim.
Right now with the 70’s revival for spring/summer, this is a fun one. CLASSICS couldn’t be more perfect to start with when rebuilding your wardrobe. I am all about it- here are a bunch below that I either own or are high up on my list. A good place to start: white skinny jeans, white skinny cropped jeans, dark denim, medium denim, light wash/distressed, and the amazing cropped classic denim that are all the rage right now!

    Accessory Starters.
Before we dive a little deeper into building out all accessory must-haves, lets just start with the essentials. Sunnies that are transitional through season and day to night. A great wide brim hat. A pair of dainty studs, rings, and a simple necklace. A structured neutral, everyday bag. Invest in a few and you can build from there.

Up next? Going to jump ahead to a few spring trends later this week to start mixing with your everyday basics. Stay tuned! If you have any other brands you recommend or tricks on how you build out your basic collection, please do share! xx
