When it comes to weekend getaways, I tend to crave three things in particular: one, a place that feels like home, but better; two, a destination that is rich with nature + good weather to soak outside as much as possible; and three, somewhere that is conveniently located to nearby shops, cafes, and eateries to plan our meals around. It’s no wonder that half my heart belongs in Napa. We are wine country bound again – and it won’t be the last getaway this spring. We’re staying at Solage Calistoga, and will be dedicating our weekend to relaxing, indulging, and digital detoxing. Well, for the most part…
I’ve fallen in love with traveling, even if it’s just a quick weekend escape. Every time we step out of our normal routines, we set out on a voyage of discovery and seize the opportunity to look around, eyes wide with wonder. It’s those new feelings, new foods, new places that inspire and change us. No matter how many times we visit Napa, I learn something new, see something differently, and am able to soak up all of its little luxuries with every moment spent there. It’s the starting of the engine, the getting there, and the any-minute-now that we relish. Counting down to Friday and the sun, wine, and good company that awaits.
