Apple Cider Spritz

I recently came across a recipe on Pinterest and it inspired me to try a new cocktail to celebrate the first inklings of fall. I didn’t want to outdo my affinity for Aperol Spritz, so we’re putting those on hold for now and will be sipping on (we’ll call it…) Apple Cider Spritz instead. I ended up tweaking the recipe a bit to suit my palette a bit better and love how fresh and flavorful it turned out.

Like most drinks approved by me (refreshingly sweet/flavors canceling out the alcohol…), you can only have one or two before calling it quits. It’s like cider…you’re asking for a headache if you overdo it. I like to find recipes that have few ingredients for ease and time sake, so if you’re a newbie in the culinary cocktail world like me, you’ll appreciate this! It’s also nice for upcoming get together to have a few ingredients out for guests to throw together themselves. So cheers to humpday and many more entertaining posts to come this season!

Serving for 2

2 Ounces of Gin (I used Hendrick’s)
.75 ounces of fresh lemon juice
4 ounces of apple juice or apple cider
4 ounces of ginger beer, chilled
1 apple (garnish)
ground nutmeg (garnish)


Combine gin, lemon juice and apple juice in a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake well and pour into glasses filled with ice.
Top with ginger beer, stir and garnish with an apple slice and a dash or two of nutmeg.
