Details Details | No. 01

Guys, it’s Wednesday, how did that happen? This week has been oddly fast! I’m playing catch up today after not feeling great the past two days, but back to life this morning it seems. Treated myself to a good dose of Clueless and sifted through Pinterest to lift the spirits, without fail Cher Horowitz just always does it for me. A few pretty captures below that I’ve saved to some boards. Also, completely redid my page, so let’s be friends! There’s nothing quite as satisfying as a haul of great pictures to get those creative juices flowing.

Back to the details – I decided to start a new series where I can share (really random at times, like today) updates, things that are inspiring me, and answer any questions you have. A moment on the blog to share the inbetween details that don’t necessarily need to be a post on it’s own. We’ll keep this one short and sweet since my daunting to-do list is staring at me.

So excited. I ordered a new camera recently which should be arriving tomorrow and I can’t wait to spend the weekend snapping away. I’ve had my Canon Rebel for over a year now, so thought it was time to upgrade and really focus on images for awhile since I love capturing moments so much. It’s a hobby that keeps on giving, so I am going with it. Thrilled to share more on that front soon and hopefully you’ll start to notice a difference.

I think the excitement of a new camera will help with the unmotivated rut I’ve been living in this week. I swear it’s the time of year, between January new year goals, and summer dangling in front of us – I have a couple of girlfriends who are going through the same uninspired glitch, so I think it may be in the air? So pleased to see that the weather is perking up at the end of this week though to 70º+, that always helps my mood!

I started on Big Magic and am loving it! Have you read it? If you have any other recommendation, please do share, I want to keep this reading kick alive.

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! xx

Yay for a new camera! Thanks sooo exciting! I can’t wait to hear what you get and how you like it. I’m hoping to upgrade my cannon rebel as a birthday treat to myself this summer. I’ve fallen completely in love with photography. Would love any recs you have on sources you’re using to learn and further develop your photography skills 🙂 xo

      • Yay, thanks lady! I will let you know more as soon as I get familiar with it. 🙂 I ordered the Canon Mark 7d II – after spending time with it this weekend and next week I’ll share my learnings! A few of my favorite photographers use this camera, it came highly recommended, so I’m excited. 🙂

      • PS. This logo is sticking. I wrote it myself on my iPhone notepad, who’da thought! #donetweakingkbye

Can’t wait to hear more about the camera as you start using it 🙂 and I LOVE this logo and it makes it even more special that you did it yourself. How awesome. ?

Since you mentioned you just invested in a new camera, I think you might enjoy Sally Mann’s memoir, Hold Still. For your next book…

I can’t wait to hear how you like the Mark 7d II. I have been shooting with a Nikon for eight years, and would love to know more about the Canon!

      • Aw, thank you so much, Brooke! I am looking that book up now, so sweet. I love my Rebel and will continue to use it, plus it’s great for traveling since it’s smaller. Excited to try the new purchase soon and will let you know how I like it once I have some time getting used to it. 🙂 I hope you have a great day lady! xx

    • Which camera did you get? Very curious to know! I have a Canon 100D and thinking about maybe getting a new one as well. Pinterest is always a great break to get inspired 🙂 Xx

      • Hi Eduarda! The one you’re using is actually the same as the camera I have now! I love it, it’s great for controlled lighting, and it captures food and objects up close so well! Still going to be using it for sure, but I ordered the Canon Mark 7d II 🙂 I’ve heard outstanding things about it, and am excited to take the next step and better my photography (well hopefully!) 🙂

        • Ah, okay. The camera is great for sure, but I feel it can be limiting, there’s a few things I would like to do but can’t. Maybe with a different lenses (?!). Thanks for the info though, will definitely look it up 🙂 have a great evening xx

          • Which lens are you using? I upgraded recently to the 50mm and it made such a big difference!!

            • I use the 18 – 55mm! But I think I have to get a different one to get better photos! Sorry for only answering now!

            • Me too! It’s a huge difference. I feel like the quality improves so much…
