Home is Where the Hygge Is

Hygge is a Danish concept that illustrates the “art of creating intimacy”. While there’s no one English word to describe hygge, several can be used interchangeably to describe the idea of hygge such as coziness, charm, happiness, ‘contentness’, security, familiarity, comfort, reassurance, kinship, and simpleness.

I stumbled upon this word a while back and am quite a big fan of it…

If you asked me what my favorite weekly ritual was, that gives me all the feels, it would be spending time with Matt and Scout, cozy at home. All the hygge, all the time. To me, slow moments at home are the best. Making breakfast together and sipping tea in our dining room. Slipping into sweats and catching up on our favorite shows. Or making dinner and opening a nice bottle of wine are little luxuries I treasure most each week. Especially this time of year with Matt in busy season (crazy work hours), these moments mean the most.

No cozy moment at home would be complete without great loungewear, enter Lou & Grey. As you know, I am amidst rebuilding a wardrobe I love, so when their team reached out to collaborate, I was so excited and quickly onboard. I love their pieces! I’ve ordered a handful of things from them in the past, and everything is so well-made. I can’t get enough of these sweats, they are the softest thing I own. Everything from their Upstate Collection is so luxe and beautiful…

I’m wearing: Lou & Grey light gray sweatpants and Lou & Grey white knit sweater

I’m wearing: Lou & Grey white 3/4 sleeve sweater, Lou & Grey ivory sweatpants

Their sweaters are also a noteworthy genre while browsing their site. These two are such beauties. I love the thick knit, details, and charm. I can’t say enough great things about the brand– so many new good things for spring, my favorites gathered below…
