June Gloom: How To Layer Accordingly

When it comes to layering, it’s safe to say I’ve mastered the art. Living in San Francisco, you kind of have to because you just never know what you’re going to get. The forecast is not only all over the place most of the time, but pretty unreliable too. I heart you SF, no hard feelings! This skill has been helpful though to continue building out my wardrobe – stocking up on versatile, neutral, and basic essentials that help make getting ready each day a breeze. And while these items aren’t the ones that make the biggest splash, they’re the things I simply can’t live without. June gloom is a particular time where these pieces come in handy – layering is key because it’s #niceoutbutnot.

Has anyone else noticed that I’ve practically become a cartoon character –perpetually topped off with a hat? My collection is growing strong, so much that I’ve hung them on our walls as décor, reminding me to grab one on the go. This one is a favorite as of late and perfect for those cooler spring/summer days (and fall, let’s be honest, this isn’t the last time you’ll see me wearing this). My tip is to layer with light pieces in case the sun decides to grace us with its presence, and balance your outfit out. I love complementing a black leather jacket with neutrals – it grounds the look a bit more for daytime dressing.

Let me tell you: I fall more and more in love with this Mansur bag. I love the way it slowly wears (it gets better with age) and how simple and chic it is. AND – it’s big enough to lug around my camera with me. To put it simply – it’s my Mary Poppin’s bag and it’s practically perfect in every way.

In other news, I am off to a little wine retreat this afternoon up in Napa and I’m looking forward to the 78º! Be sure to follow along on snapchat (brunchsnaps) and Instagram for some vineyard shenanigans! Have a great humpday, friends! xx

So good. This look is simply perfect. I definitely think layering is essential, especially when the weather is all over the place! I’m so jealous of all your Napa trips! I MUST COME VISIT!

So chic! I’m with you on the importance of layering, we just moved to Manhattan Beach and while it’s amazing being near the water it has been so foggy and chilly. Have fun in Napa!

LOVE this look! And need this jacket. Did you get a S or XS?

Have a blast up in Napa. I could die happy up there 🙂 also, finally made my way to scribe last weekend and joined the wine club. Best decision ever. I’m so excited. Their wine (and bottle/blanket/picnic set up) is to die for. Xo

Hi Amira! I have it in a small. 🙂 I wear it all year round, it’s the best!

Also, YAY to the Scribe news! I hope we run into each other!! Matt and I joined last summer and we went up pretty much every weekend until it got cool, and with a pretty open summer I am sure we will be spending a lot of time up there again. 🙂 Also, their events in the city are so much fun! Congrats lady!

Awesome! Thanks for the size info! Figured in a small I could layer it over light sweaters/tops!

I’ve heard their events are fun! Can’t wait and already planning my next visit up in a couple of weekends. Hope to see you there or at their city events! Have a great day 🙂

Of course, yes I think the small is perfect – light sweaters and chambray fit perfectly underneath.

I also love how Scribe is dog-friendly! 🙂 Have a good day too, lady!
