The beauty of summer dressing is the ease. Fewer layers, simple, effortless. I’m so much more excited to hop out of bed and get ready for the day when I’m woken up by the sunshine beaming in and the promise of warm weather.

Timeless basics are the ones who carry the weight in my closet. I’m much more selective when picking out these pieces (over trendy things) and a firm believer in quality over quantity. I’m one of those people who wear things on repeat when I love them, so the everyday staples that I mix and match with the rest of my wardrobe have got to hold their own. Alongside my denim jacket that is worn weekly, I’ve just added this white linen jersey tank and these super chic silk trousers (obsessed with the color of these!). Both I’ve been wearing a ton lately. Such good throw-ons when working from home, running an errand, coffee shop stops, picnic-ing. Those kinds of things in your closet that can be reinvented over and over.

Both are from Eileen Fisher‘s newer collection called The System { 8 simple shapes, each with a purpose }. Pieces that can work with nearly everything in your closet. I actually mentioned this dress I love from the collection awhile back on Instagram. I can’t say enough great things about the fabrics, cut, and the way they flatter on. How cute would these pants be paired with a bikini top come summer days oceanside? They are just so cute, lightweight, and versatile… I love them.

I personally get the most use out of them teamed with favorite boyfriend tees or a big cozy sweater when working from home, coffee runs, and taking Scout on walks during the week. They are so comfortable and easy, but also make me feel like I’m put together for the day.
