Cropped denim and statement slides… the recipe to my spring and summer uniform.
Is there anything better than coming across pieces for your closet that you’re compelled to bring home because it was practically made for you? I love when that happens, and dangerously so for my bank account–I’ve been meeting a few of these lately. It may be winter outside, but I have a space heater and my apartment is currently at an ideal balmy 70º, so we’re good to go at least indoors for now.
Yesterday I shared this photo on Instagram: “If I were a cartoon character, this would be my outfit”. However, I did not reveal what the bottom half would look like– for those of you who may have been curious… this is your answer.
I am obsessed with vintage cropped denim paired with a chic slide. It is my uniform of choice, and this particular pairing is a current favorite.
3 Spring Staples You Need
I found these statement slides while browsing Anthropologie (my go-to when I am looking for something fun and unique), and was drooling on my keyboard because…WOW. First of all straw. Second, a color combination I literally wear every single day? YES PLEASE. A few more fun favorites below.
I just got two pairs from Citizen of Humanity (both pictured above and below–bleached denim cropped denim and the lighter denim), and I am going to be living in them. It is so challenging finding a pair of vintage crops that are thin enough to flatter. I’ve purchased many in the past few months, but all were a little thicker and a lot stiffer– lacking that worn-in vintage look I wanted. You must have a pair of these for spring, they are to die for (be sure to go a full size down, they run big!).
Lastly, I am completely smitten with this leather and suede bag from Imago-A! I’ve been on the hunt for a cognac bag for spring– black and straw reign supreme in my closet, so wanted a lighter shade to pair with all-white ensembles. I just discovered this brand am really loving how unique they are. Quality is also fantastic. I have my eye on this one, too… so cute.
Cheers to making it through Monday and to a Bachelor night in with wine. Even if this show is turning into torture, it makes for a good laugh at the end of the day, amirite?
