Sunday Funday

  /
8 September

Sunday funday has a completely different meaning to me than it did when I first moved to San Francisco (let me tell ya) many years ago. Cue the flashbacks of bottomless mimosas and major Monday morning blues…(oy). No looking back here, but there are a few things from those days I can still stand behind. I don’t let Sunday scaries hit me and I still celebrate as if it were Saturday. Sure, a run to the farmers’ market and a few errands to feel productive and prepare for the week ahead, but topping off the weekend right is something I look forward to every Sunday. And sometimes on great days…we pop open a bottle and indulge.

Much like clichés are often clichés because they’re annoyingly true, anything that’s been anointed as ‘basic’ is deemed so because, well, everyone likes it—and everyone likes it with good reason. Case in point: decking my coffee table with alllllll of the candles, fresh flowers, and (my new obsession) Michelle Sparkling rosé. You guys, this stuff is so delicious. The bottle did not last long upon opening.

I clinked glasses last weekend to celebrate Scout’s homecoming (the Sunday night before we picked him up) with few girlfriends and quickly hopped on the Michelle wine train (and may need to open another to celebrate making it one week with the little muffin handful!). It’s the best sparkling rosé I’ve tried, absolutely recommend it. They also have a fantastic sparkling brut champagne as well. A new always-on-hand bottle to have stocked in our fridge for impromptu celebrations. In fact, I might pour myself a glass now, I mean it’s almost Friday, why not? 🙂

Oh, and I can’t forget to mention the cheese! Always cheese.
