Home Tour on The Everygirl

A week ago our apartment was featured on The Everygirl. Nesting has been a work in progress since last May, but it finally feels filled-in and cozy, just like we like it. I was thrilled to receive such lovely comments, see our place beautifully photographed, and even welcome some new readers! Since things are feeling complete around here, I thought I’d share with you a few tips per room on how I brought it to life, and give you some resources on my decor, so if you’re looking to revamp your space, this may help you in some way!

Our living room is where we spend most of our time, so I wanted it to be a warm, comfortable, and inspiring space. Light and airy, which is why I always gravitate towards whites and neutrals. All of the decor and living elements bring a vibrancy to our space and add character, color, and stories. I love adding a little cactus, a bouquet of fresh blooms, and light candles when I am spending time on the couch. These little things totally make a difference.

We got so lucky with natural light in our apartment, but the kitchen is the only room lacking windows. It sits right next to the dining room which has two big windows, but because it’s a little nook, light isn’t always shining in there. I wanted to add bright accents to give it more life. We added a big mirror above our kitchen sink, to bounce off some of the light coming from the dining room. I don’t like having too much on our counters, but a few items in my mind are necessities. A bowl of fresh fruit, flowers, and cutting boards on display are a few of my favorite elements to add.

Our bedroom is our favorite. We are obsessed with our rug, and how it ties the modern yet rustic and bohemian look together. I love the simplicity, and how comfortable it is. Our bedding is so soft – it’s always so tough getting up in the morning! Also, I adore our kilim pillows; they also add to our room’s personality.

    This is so adorable!

Do you think the house looks better if the paint in every room is the same color?

Love your home so much! Can I ask which curtains you have?

Thanks so much, Kim! These are from World Market, however I think I am going to replace them soon. A friend of mine just got the most beautiful ivory linen curtains from IKEA! They look so nice for the price. These are great and super simple, though!

Your aparment is sooooo gorgeus! Do you think it would look THAT nice if the floor was pale wood?

Aw, thank you! I haven’t thought about that! I’d prefer a little darker and less orangey, more ashy! & herringbone while we’re at it. THAT would be dreamy.

Your apartment is ENTIRELY #apartmentgoals. How gorgeous! I wish we had that bar cart in Target Australia but they haven’t stocked them yet 🙁

Ah! Thank you! Well honestly, if the shipping isn’t too insane, it’s such a good price point for a bar cart. Like 1/3 the cost of most I’ve seen elsewhere and it’s so nice looking in person. 🙂

You have a gorgeous place! I love your nightstands in the bedroom.

Thank you, lovebug! You are so sweet. I just love anything x-leg, so those nightstands were an easy sell for me. 🙂

I LOVEE your side table in the living room.

Thank you! It’s from Urban! I love it too, I have been on the fence about buying a second just because. 🙂 xx

yes, your apartment was so worthy of a feature on the every girl … so gooooooood!

Aw, thank you! Always a compliment coming from you lady!
