A Sunday well spent brings a week of content…

Isn’t it so true? This weekend overall was so lovely and relaxing. It made Monday such a breeze, I woke up feeling so inspired and ready to take on the day. On Friday, I had a craving to go sit at a cafe for a bit and read with a latte. I don’t usually drink coffee, but that scene just sounded so nice! Scout and I walked over early, grabbed a table, and hung for 30 minutes or so and it was so enjoyable. I think I might make this a new Friday tradition!

A good friend of mine was in town so I shut my laptop early and met her for lunch while the fleet week shows began. In the last 10 years of living here, this weekend is always so much fun. Everyone is out and about, it’s our one last summer-y hurrah before fall comes a-knocking. Later in the evening, I met Matt for a glass of wine at West Coast Wine & Cheese (a favorite weekend ritual) before heading home for pizza night. (In case you’re a local, West Coast now offers 40% off when you buy 4 bottles or more, which is kind of nuts. They have all kinds of price points, too… and so many delicious labels. Just had to share… such a good deal!)

We threw on cozies and hopped on the couch for Blacklist and cheese pizza… the best family night tradition, ever. Side note: I have been asked a handful of times to do a loungewear roundup since I capture mine most weekends (haha) –– I do this every year so I am putting it high on my priority list!

On Saturday, we got a workout in and then I met a girlfriend for brunch. It was such a beautiful day, so Matt and I went up to our roof to watch the planes with rosé. I had a feeling it was going to be one of the last super warm Indian summer afternoons this year, so we spent most of the day soaking up the sun. That evening we had a double date at Amerena, an old Italian favorite in Russian Hill (their butternut squash ravioli is heaven), and then walked home while the sun was setting. We read a bit before bed and got another early night’s sleep… bless.

Like clockwork each year after fleet week, Sunday felt like fall! We decided to go to Off the Grid for lunch with some friends since there’s only a couple left this year. We bundled up and packed the car to drive over. Matt helped me shoot a few photos after (you’ll see some new fall things I think you’ll really like this week!) and then we had a lowkey evening at home. Tidied up, “watched” football, and read a little bit again before bed.

I have been reading so much more and it’s been so enjoyable! I mean, I am not surprised in the slightest, but not looking at my phone before bed has been giving me new life. Instead, I open one of my books based on my mood, read a few chapters until my eyes feel sleepy, and then hit the hay. I’ve been sleeping so well and waking up feeling like a new woman and it’s just the best. Highly recommend it!

This morning I finally decided to jump on board the Melissa Wood Health bandwagon and did one of her leg workout videos. I really loved her flow and she really does have such a soothing voice, haha! I will be sure to report back after a couple of weeks of practicing with her.

After my workout, I met up with a friend who had Columbis Day off. We cruised over to Tartine Manufactory and I picked up a matcha latte (torture saying no to their pastries/bread but I am being good this week!). We walked next door to Heath Ceramic and the magazine shop afterward to browse all the pretty things. And then on our way home, we stopped by the SF Flower Mart and I stocked up for the week. Kind of an ideal Monday morning, if you ask me! I need to have days like this more often. I always say this, but getting out of my routine (and neighborhood) revives me! I am starting to learn that I should be taking more advantage of my freedom and time, and doing things like this in new areas because it just does so much for me and my creativity.

Hope you have the best week ahead, excited for posts to come this week so stay tuned xx
